5 What should I bring to class?
Bring Chromebook or own device You will need your Chromebook for all quizzes and some tests (I will tell you ahead of time if assessment will require school Chromebook) All course materials will be posted on Canvas Textbook will be online; only hard copies will be a class set Materials What should I bring to class?

Intro agenda/go over major deadlines Complete the daily assignments/docket on CANVAS Review deadlines and upcoming assignments 5 minutes 25-30 mins 45-60 mins 5-15 mins (optional) 5 mins Lecture News clips, audio, YouTube videos, etc. *Tests will typically last the entire block. Quizzes will be minutes.

8 Important Note Your class is large. I care about YOU and this course. In order to ensure you have the best, most rewarding experience in the classroom, I need some help from you to make sure we have another great year I don’t lecture long; so please be quiet and respectful while I am talking Take advantage of class time Respect is imperative; respect me, respect your peers, respect yourself. 4. Deadlines are key. You must ME if you think you are going to miss a deadline. You are allowed one request per SEMESTER. Two requests for extension will be determined on a case by case basis. After three, we will discuss whether this class is the right fit.

[explain here how you have used class time and plan to use class time in the future to ensure you will not need an extension for future assignments this semester.] Thank you for your time, [name] This is just a sample, but should include all of these components. to: Sample to Professor Major points: Include brief description of why you need extension Explain how you’ve used your class time and why you need the extension Provide new deadline Please spell my name correctly. 11 Weekly Current Events Every Friday we are in class, you will take a quiz on current events Quiz material will come from at least one of the online news sources you are expected to subscribe to and read daily Subscription is free You only need to subscribe to one (if you want to do both, you may) Quizzes will be a Google form and you MUST complete it on your Chromebook
