3 Traveling between classes
To ease the flow of traffic AND to prevent someone from getting hurt, the following must be followed. Panther Hall Outside stairwell in Panther Hall is ONE WAY going UP ONLY!! You MUST exit upstairs of Panther Hall using the side stairwells. No exceptions!! D-pod Right side of D-pod next to student parking is now open for 2-way traffic. Breezeways between pods Please walk on the right, so traffic can flow in both directions.

5 Lunches Eat in the cafeteria or the O-pod courtyard (56 seats outside, so 56 people only) Restrooms to use – O-pod If you have lunch detention report straight to the lunch detention room at the BEGINNING of lunch. With a pass: Media Center, teacher or ROTC You MUST get food BEFORE going to Media Center, teacher classroom or ROTC. You may not leave those areas once checked in to go to the cafeteria.

6 Lunch/Cafeteria Stealing
You must have your SCHOOL ID to scan, if using lunch account to purchase food. If you do not have your SCHOOL ID, you MUST go to the 3rd line from the left. Be prepared to wait as cafeteria worker will have to hand enter your name. Stealing Definition: Taking something without permission or without a legal right. Consequences: Out of school suspension and possible arrest Examples: * Taking something without paying * Grabbing something (chicken finger or mini corn dog) from 1 food basket and placing it in another

7 Dress Code Expectation: Students will take pride in their appearance and dress appropriately for school EVERY day. Students may not wear… Blankets Shirts/dresses that are low cut revealing cleavage. Tube top or tube top w/arm cuffs. (Bralette under the tube top does not meet dress code. Shirt or dresses pulled off the shoulder are allowed, along with anything with a strap.) Shirts short enough to expose midriff. Shorts/dresses/skirts shorter than 4” above top of knee. Jeans with holes 4” above top of knee. Leggings with sheer panels or cut-outs 4” above the top of knee. Leggings that are sheer with shorts/dresses that are shorter than 4” above the top of knee. If leggings are worn with shorts/dresses shorter than 4”, leggings must be opaque – not see through. Sagging pants. All pants must be worn around the waist. Tank tops that have a large arm opening exposing chest, side or midriff. Clothing advertising alcohol, drugs, etc. Hats or hoodies inside any building. Two earbuds – one ONLY while outside and in cafeteria. NO earbuds in classrooms, auditorium, gym & Media Center. They will be taken.

8 Dress Code Consequences
Students who break the dress code will be provided a Nease t-shirt or shorts to wear, so they may attend class. T-shirt or shorts must be returned to receive personal clothing item(s) back. Earbuds will be taken and given back at the end of the day. 1st offense – warning 2nd offense – lunch detention 3rd offense – 3 lunch detentions 4th offense – 1 day of ISS (in-school suspension) 5th offense – 2 days of ISS or Saturday School 6th offense plus – OSS (out-of-school suspension) Dress Code violations will be erased after 1st semester, so everyone starts over 2nd semester.

11 Cell phones Cell phones can NOT be used in classrooms, which includes gym and locker room. Please put phones away before entering. Teacher will confiscate and give phone to the Dean’s office. No photographs No videotaping If asked for phone, please give it to your teacher immediately. You will pick it up from ISS at the end of the day. Refusal will result in additional consequences including OSS.

12 Consequences Cell Phone
1st Offense – warning and pick up phone at the end of the day. 2nd Offense – warning and pick up phone at the end of the day. 3rd Offense – official warning with Dean. 4th & 5th Offense – In-school suspension. 6th or more – Out-of-school suspension. Phone violations will be erased after 1st semester. Everyone starts over second semester.

13 Tardies Expectation: Students are in class on time every period every day AND they carry their ID with them at all times. 1st Tardy – Warning 2nd Tardy – Warning 3rd Tardy – Warning 4th Tardy – Counsel with Dean 5th Tardy – Lunch Detention 6th Tardy – 3 Lunch Detentions 7th Tardy – 1 day of ISS (In-School Suspension) 8th Tardy – 2 days of ISS or Saturday School Tardies will reset each 9 weeks so all students will start with a clean slate EACH quarter.

14 Additional consequences for drivers:
4 tardies to 1st class of the day – loss of parking pass for 1 week 5 tardies to 1st class of the day – loss of parking pass for 2 weeks 6 tardies to 1st class of the day – loss of parking pass for 3 weeks

15 Reporting Students who are asked to report to the Dean’s office, tardy station or ISS/dress code room will be issued OSS for failure to report.

18 Safe and Secure Campus Zero Tolerance Campus – NO alcohol, drugs, or weapons! You will be suspended and referred to alternative school. Fighting is not tolerated and will result in suspension We reserve the right to search students, lockers, cars and bags on campus One person in a bathroom stall. Tell an adult immediately if you hear or see anything that would put anyone in danger.

21 Vaping Level III Contraband
Use, possession and or distribution results in OSS NOT on school property at all. Continued violations of a level III offence result in it being regarded as repeated misconduct and could result in Level IV referral to Gaines

22 Bullying St. Johns County School District believes that all students and employees be afforded a setting that is safe, secure, and free from bullying and harassment of any kind. In compliance with Florida Statute and School Board Rule 3.21, the school district has adopted a comprehensive policy prohibiting bullying and harassment. Reports may be dropped off at the front desk in Panther Hall, to any Dean, or to any administrator or teacher.

MUST use the pedestrian crossing going from the parent pick up lot across Ray road Pedestrians are not allowed to exit through student parking or bus loop Drivers You must follow directions of PSA, Deputies & Nease Staff Abide by the 10 MPH Speed Limit Buses Stay behind the fence No running Listen to any announcements and check boards for your bus arrival and location Buses will not be called back No bus passes will be provided at school

26 Academic Integrity Personal pride and integrity are integral to Nease’s dedication to academic excellence. Cheating, to include plagiarism, collusion, and misrepresentation will not be tolerated. Any student with reason to believe a violation has occurred or will occur is required to report it to a teacher or an administrator.

Student Responsibilities and Awareness: Read and sign the student statement of commitment. Report to any teacher and/or administrator or it may be anonymous. 29 NHS Media Center Guidelines
ANYTIME you come into the media center (before, during, or after school) PLEASE scan your student ID. Computers MUST be checked out by library staff or volunteer. ID’s – on you everyday!! $5 each duplicate.  Textbooks/class novels – MUST have ID’s to check out Library books/class novels are returned to the “Book Drop” just inside the front door to the media center. NO TEXTBOOKS in here at all!

30 NHS Media Center Guidelines
LUNCH TIME!!! The media center is OPEN during lunch everyday. Food allowed ONLY in Café area. If purchasing from cafeteria, you MUST go there first. You can’t leave the Media Center once you are there. NO EATING ON CARPET AREA!! MC passes handed out everyday starting at 8:30am until they are gone. There are 50 per day per lunch. Beginning in September, we will have NHS tutors available to help during each lunch period.

Media Center hours (beginning Aug. 26th) Mondays, Fridays – 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays – 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays – 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. After School Tutoring (FREE!!)  Begins Sept. 17th Every Tuesday and Thursday

32 Student Parking Lot Parking on campus is a privilege. Your parking pass will be revoked for excessive tardies to/at school or driving recklessly in the parking lot. Please obtain a pass from the front office if it is necessary to go to your car during the school day There is a parking lot attendant on duty during the school day. You must show a pass or ID to leave campus. Your ID must be stamped if you leave early every day – see Mrs. Combs. No parking on top of the concrete curbs or along the yellow painted curbs. Be careful when leaving parking lot after school Speed limit is 10mph! NO texting while driving!! Parking without a tag or permission will result in placement of a boot or possible towing of vehicle. Fee to remove a boot is $25.

33 Students with a modified schedule
Students with a modified schedule, dual enrollment, virtual blend or Co-op on their schedule MUST leave campus when they do not have class. The only exception is for athletes during their season and then they MUST report to and remain in the Media Center.

35 How and when can I see my counselor? We recommend an appointmen
Appointments can be scheduled by: Scanning the QR codes available in the guidance office. (Use your camera app!) Using the scheduling link available in counselors’ signature lines or on the school counseling webpage. Counselors will also be available during all lunches for students in counselor’s corner in the cafeteria. How and when can I see my counselor? 36 Working on college applications?
School counselors will be visiting senior English classes in September to discuss the process for requesting transcripts, letters of recommendations, etc. All students will be required to submit their personalized envelope to their counselor when making these requests.
