9 Activity 2.7: OSH overview: work-related musculo-skeletal disorders (MSD)
EU-OSHA aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the prevalence, causes and costs of MSD. It will foster a positive preventive culture by identifying the most effective instruments, interventions, guidance and tools and sharing and raising awareness about them Project definition (including consultation with stakeholders and experts finalised in August 2017; Research will start in 2018 Actions areas and related issues: Actions that would impact at: policy level; workplace level, including for small and micro-enterprises, and “atypical” workers, for example temporary workers The interface between OSH and public health, for example, rehabilitation or working with pain Areas warranting further investigation: emerging areas of risk and prevention, innovative areas in relation to prevention (e.g. risk assessment approaches) Diversity issues in relation to the above points, including age and gender Taking forward or revisiting areas of MSD already covered by EU-OSHA

10 Activity 3.1 OiRA – Online interactive Risk Assessment
Risk assessment is at the heart of good workplace safety and health. Easy-to-use online tools guide micro and small enterprises through the risk assessment process. OIRA Partners In 16 EU countries (most of them Ministries/Labour Inspectorates) Collaborating with other countries/institutions who developed their own online RA tool (IE, UK, ES, NL) EU sectoral social partners 14 EU sectoral social partners also involved in OiRA Common platform / software available in 18 languages OiRA tools (average per year) 128 published 28under development 63 sectors covered so far OiRA user accounts created: 44,519 Number of RA created: 64,324 Guests accounts since Mar/16: 80,328 Updated 31 October 2017

12 Activity 4.5 HWC 2018-19 – Healthy Workplaces Manage Dangerous Substances
To raise awareness of the importance of preventing risks from dangerous substances, helping to dispel common misunderstandings. To promote risk assessment by providing information on practical tools and creating opportunities to share good practices, focusing specifically on: eliminating or substituting dangerous substances in the workplace the hierarchy of prevention measures (i.e. following the hierarchy outlined in legislation so that the most effective type of measure is always selected). To heighten awareness of risks linked to exposures to carcinogens at work by supporting the exchange of good practices; EU-OSHA is a signatory to the covenant committing to the EU Carcinogens Roadmap. To target groups of workers  with specific needs and higher levels of risks by providing tailored information as well as examples of good practices, including: women; migrant workers; young people; workers at increased risk because of the sector or job they work in; and temporary workers and workers in the informal economy. To increase knowledge of the legislative framework that is already in place to protect workers, as well as highlighting policy developments.
