Revised Rollout Discussion

2 Re-Designed Basic Rotary Certification
Focuses on flexibility, technician performance proficiency, and certification competency. Focuses on field technicians’ performance and their ability to do job-related tasks. Centers around technicians demonstrating competency before being certified in Basic Rotary. Allows technicians with certain background experience the opportunity to test out of Basic Rotary class. The re-designed Basic Rotary Certification is a structured learning path that focuses on flexibility, performance proficiency, and certification competency. Flexibility allows newly-hired service technicians with certain background experience with the opportunity to test out of the Basic Rotary class. Performance Proficiency focuses on field technicians’ performance and their ability to do job-related tasks. Certification Competency centers around technicians demonstrating competency before being certified in Basic Rotary.

3 Basic Rotary Overview The Basic Rotary Technician Learning Path has been updated to a multi-sectional program designed to effectively certify newly-hired field service technicians The Learning Path consists of the following sections: Overview Structured online pre-work curriculum Pre-work manual and test Either the Basic Rotary Class or Equivalency Exam Structured online post-work curriculum On-the-job Performance Checks Basic Rotary Recertification

4 The Basic Rotary Technician Learning Path has been updated to a multi-sectional structured path designed to effectively certify newly-hired field service technicians. The Learning Path consists of the following sections: Overview Structured online pre-work curriculum Pre-work manual and test Either the Basic Rotary Class or Equivalency Exam Structured online post-work curriculum On-the-job Performance Checks Basic Rotary Recertification Here are a few details on this Re-designed Learning path newly-hired Field Service Technicians will complete. Complete Foundational Skills (Pre-Work Curriculum): This contains six online courses and a Pre-Work Manual with test that must be completed. This curriculum provides basic knowledge needed prior to enrolling in the Basic Rotary class or attempting the Equivalency Exam. Previous IR/Competitor/Distributor Experience: Newly-hired field service technicians with previous Ingersoll Rand, competitor, or distributor experience have the opportunity to bypass Basic Rotary classroom training and can attempt a Proficiency Advancement Exam. Meets Proficiency Advancement Criteria: Managers should use the criteria chart outlined below to determine if a newly-hired field service technician is eligible to attempt Basic Rotary Equivalency Exam. Newly-hired Field Service Technicians who do not meet the requirements must enroll in the Basic Rotary Course. Basic Rotary Equivalency Examination Eligibility Requirements: A newly-hired technician must have…. 2 or more years of rotary compressor experience (OR) 3 or more years of any compressor experience (AND) 4 or more years of electrical maintenance experience (AND) 4 or more years of mechanical maintenance experience Passes online Basic Rotary Equivalency Examination: Technicians who pass the exam meet the training requirements and do not have to attend the Basic Rotary classroom training. Technicians who do not pass the exam will then need to enroll in attending the Basic Rotary class. Technicians will have only one opportunity to take this exam.    Complete Basic Rotary Course This five-day class (AST302) is conducted in Davidson, North Carolina or at various regional locations. Complete Developmental Skills (Post-Work Curriculum): This section contains online courses that must be completed prior to moving on to the Certification Performance Checklists. Certification Performance Checklists: This section consists of a series of Performance Checklists with an Online Acknowledgment. Each Performance Checklist is to be completed by a Senior Service Technician, Master Service Technician, or Service Manager with the new Field Service Technician. An Online Acknowledgement is completed after all of the Performance Checklists are finished to complete the certification process. Once the Online Acknowledgment is finished, the Basic Rotary certification process is complete and the service technician can print out a Certificate of Completion. Recertification Curriculum: This section contains a series of online courses and a test that must be completed for Basic Rotary recertification and is required every three years. Newly hired Ingersoll Rand technicians that match the service technician job codes will automatically be enrolled into this Learning Path.
