1 Card Reader Project pilot

2 Card Reader Project pilot
We have been selected to be involved in this pilot project, which runs throughout the Autumn Semester (and may be extended into the Spring semester) You will need to swipe in at the beginning of lectures/workshops with your student card, using the tablets that have been provided You will also need to swipe in and out of laboratory sessions There may also be a paper register, which you will need to sign as well – this project is a pilot so we need to have a fall-back option of collecting the data in case the technology doesn’t work If you forget your card, there will be a paper sign-in sheet available to use – ask the member of staff We are not asking students to swipe into ALL sessions – academics will need to confirm with students which sessions to swipe into The point in red is for the School of Chemistry only – everyone else to delete

3 Card Reader Project pilot
Attendance is monitored for course requirements, health and safety, and visa regulations for international students This project is not about increasing your attendance monitoring – it’s about finding a more efficient way to collect the data that we’ve always collected At the end of the pilot we will ask you for your feedback and this will be compared to your experiences using paper sign-in in other areas If you have any further questions about the project, please take a look at the FAQs at nottingham.ac.uk/CardReaderFAQs Not all Schools monitor attendance for course requirements; please delete if necessary The second bullet point may need to be deleted if you have not previously taken a register
