1 Mendel’s Laws Law of Segregation: during the formation of reproductive cells (gametes), pairs of genes for a specific trait separate so that offspring receive one factor from each parent Law of Independent Assortment: genes for separate traits are passed independently of one another from parents to offspring Law of Dominance: Recessive alleles will always be masked by dominant alleles.

2 Incomplete dominance = one allele is not completely dominant over the other (blend) heterozygous condition somewhere in between (flowers…red, white =pink) Codominance= condition in which both alleles for a gene are expressed when present (cattle…red, white= roan coat)
