5. Gravity Gravity pulls everything on Earth toward its center
Gravity causes:
Water to flow downhill
Rocks to roll down mountains

6. Gravity
When gravity alone causes rocks (or sediment) to move down a slope, it is called mass movement
Four types of mass movement are:
Creep
Slump
Rock Slides
Mudflows

Glaciers move downhill because of gravity
They pick up sediments and carry them

Glaciers carrying these rocks can scratch and erode rocks as they move
