4 Peacemaking & Reconciliation
Kingdom Key #5 Peacemaking & Reconciliation

5 Reconciliation: When there is conflict or sin, we come together under the authority and in the name of Jesus Christ not to win an argument… but to restore our communion with God and one another; as well as to hear from God what His Will is for this situation.

6 Matthew 5: 23-24 23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, 24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.”

7 12 “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors…
Matthew 6: 12 & 14-15 12 “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors… 14 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”

8 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NEB) “If anyone is united to Christ, there is a new world; everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!”

9 2 Corinthians 5: 18-19 18  “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.”

10 2 Corinthians 5:20 “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors,
as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”

11 Colossians 3: 12-13 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”

12 James 5: 19-20 19 “My brothers, if one of you should wander from the truth and someone should bring him back, 20 remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of his way will save him from death and cover over a multitude of sins.”

13 Losing Our “Key” “Priestly Confession” or Pastoral Arbitration is more encouraged; instead of individuals actually doing reconciliation themselves. People openly live with fractured or frosty relationships; within the church and in other areas.
