About International Programs and Services
International Programs and Services works to promote the diversity of nations and cultures at Mason. The staff provides immigration services for non-immigrant students and faculty and assistance to sponsoring academic units. International Programs and Services advisors are available by appointment to assist international students with immigration issues as well as cultural adjustment and resource referral. To encourage cross-cultural connections and understanding, International Programs and Services offers programs and activities that highlight global themes and develop cross-cultural competence.
Services
International Programs and Services provides services for students and faculty throughout the year.
Orientation for new international students (fall and spring), and for international scholars (ongoing)
International student advising during scheduled walk-in hours and by appointment
Issuance of visa documents for new students and scholars, in coordination with undergraduate and graduate admissions (for students) and sponsoring academic units (for scholars)
Information and assistance on matters related to F-1 and J-1 non-immigrant status, employment eligibility, and extension of stay
Social and cultural programming on topics related to cultural and global themes
Collaboration with Housing and Residence Life in programming for the Global Patriots Living Learning Community
