2 Essential Terms Media: It is the filter and bridge of information. For example, books, tv, internet article, social media. Bias: When the media favors one side of the argument over another. For example, News outlets such as newspapers or new TV shows that actively promote one political ideology over another. Propaganda: When information contains bias, incorrect or distorted information in order to shape people’s opinion for their own cause or gain. Lobbyist: A group of people that work with the legislative branch of government in order to make laws that help a particular business or industry. Special Interest Group: an organization that actively works in politics in order to change certain laws. For example, Anti-abortion special interest groups.
