1 Nitrogen and Carbon Cycles
By: Maria McCall Lauren Barailloux Kassity Williams

2 Overview of Nitrogen Cycle
There are not many organisms that can use nitrogen that is in the air Much of the nitrogen is passed through living and dead organisms. Nitrogen is one of the most important non-living things on Earth. Living things need nitrogen to make amino acids, protein, and DNA.

3 Steps of the Nitrogen Cycle.
The nitrogen runs through the soil and through the water When nitrogen is in the ground or water it will start to change. A hydrogen atom will combine with two nitrogen atoms after they separate. As a result they will form ammonia.

4 Definitions for Nitrogen Cycle
Microorganisms (or small organisms) helps nitrogen spread throughout the atmosphere. Nitrification- “the chemical process in which a nitro group is added to an organic compound” Denitrification- to reduce nitrates to nitrites.

5 Nitrogen Cycle

6 Overview of Carbon Cycle
Carbon travels through animals and plants. After the animal the animals dies it becomes buried from the weather and becomes a fossil fuel.
