Governors – Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Make sure region is strong Carry out strategic direction of SIA Support clubs Model performance in: Financial strengths Leadership succession planning Membership growth Financial support of Dream Programs

4 Role of the Region Governor
Objective is to increase: Programs Membership Public Awareness Fundraising Future – Big Goal Invest in the dreams of half a million women and girls through access to education

5 Role of the Region Governor
Specific duties – OPERATIONS Communicate importance of maintaining civil, vibrant and dynamic clubs Be a Healthy Region Provide training around administrative items and the four pillars Develop future leaders Appoint and train region committee chairs Mentor Governor Elect

OPERATIONS – Which areas do we feel we are currently successful in and why? Which areas need more attention in order to be successful? Ideas? Are there any duties listed that contradict what is listed in our region procedures?

Specific duties – MEMBERSHIP Promote recruitment and retention Direct chartering efforts Working with Region Membership Chair, supervise disbanding of clubs Help clubs with 12 or fewer members

MEMBERSHIP– How are we leveraging our Region Membership committee with these duties? Are we encouraging clubs who are successful in membership to mentor other clubs? Which areas need more attention in order to be successful? Ideas?

Specific duties – PROGRAM Promote participation and provide support to clubs regarding Soroptimist Dream Programs Encourage clubs to provide Live Your Dream Awards AND to provide additional support Encourage participation in Dream It, Be It Encourage use of Working as One exercise

PROGRAM – How are we leveraging our Region’s Program, LYDA and DIBI chairs and committees? What recognition are providing to clubs who provide additional support to LYDA recipients? Do we use and do our clubs know about the Working as One exercise.

Specific duties – PUBLIC AWARENESS Know and work with the public awareness and branding resources on SIA website Encourage clubs to use the same resources Educate clubs on benefits of branding Use the “S logo” on all Soroptimist materials and communications Share information, news and resources to clubs provided by SIA

PUBLIC AWARENESS – How are we leveraging our Region’s Public Awareness Chair and committee? What are we specifically doing to model the appropriate use of SIA’s logo and overall branding? How do we ensure that clubs are following up on information provided by SIA?

Specific duties - FUNDRAISING Promoting a culture of philanthropy with clubs and members Sharing the benefit that giving provides to the women and girls who face obstacles Encourage contributions through Club Giving and Laurel Society/Laurel Legacy

FUNDRAISING– What are we doing to encourage Club Giving overall? At the 10% level? How we support/recognize Laurel Society and Laurel Legacy? Are we financially supporting other programs or non-profits that are not part of the Dream Program or fulfill the mission?
