1. How to Earn Honors Designation in Your Block Class

2. The 1st Way to Earn Honors:
Be referred to Advanced Learning by a teacher or family member between May and September. (Kindergarten-8th Grade)
Go through a Seattle Public Schools testing process (CogAT)
Have high achievement scores in Reading and Math (SBA)
Be determined by Seattle Public Schools to be eligible for Advanced Learning.
A teacher, or a family member can refer you to be considered for eligibility before September 24th by logging into the Source, and clicking o the “Advanced Learning” button to start the referral process!
At Mercer, There are Two Ways to Earn an Honors Designation in Your Block Class!

3. The 2nd Way to Earn Honors:
Before your Semester report cards, show that you have exceeded grade level standard in both of the reading and writing assessment types below.
Your Narrative and Argument On-Demand Writing assessments demonstrates key writing skills above your current grade level on the writing progression (See example below)
Your Reading Lexile score is “Advanced” on the Reading Inventory. (and/or in 2nd Semester, your SBA score is a Level 4)
