Prepare the existing forest: \support\adprep\adprep.exe” /forestprep (check schema version against the results from the forestprep - Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\NTDS\Parameters) Promote the 2012 R2 DC Migrate the FSMO roles – a pull process from the new DC
