1 ENGINEERING PERFORMANCE STANDARD
General Engineering Guidelines

2 ENGINEERING BASICS Engineer must be in uniform which shows that he’s one of the team. Be on time for repair and always around for maintenance. Smile while walking in guest areas or facing a guest. Knock the door announcing who you are even if you are sure the room is vacant. Leave everything clean after repair as best as you can.

3 PARKING, EXTERIOR & ENTRANCE
Make sure that : Transportation vehicles must be maintained and free of repair needs. Signs indicating internal hotel destination directions or exit must be clear and in good condition. All parking light fixtures must be free of repair or replacement needs Entrance’s doors must be in good working order & in good physical condition.

4 LOBBY House music nicely compliment the style of hotel
Lobby temperature must be comfortable Lighting must be appropriate & comfortable If smoking not permitted, clear signs must be posted indicating this Adequate seating & furniture must be available in good physical condition. Reception counter & floor must be in good physical condition Lobby must be free of insects or bugs.

5 GUEST ROOM CORRIDORS Temperature & lighting must be appropriate and comfortable. Directional signs must be present & clear. Non smoking floors must be clearly signed Floor tiles or marble, walls & wall fixture, door exteriors & frames, service entrance doors, window frames & ceiling all must be in good physical condition.

6 ELEVATORS Must be working properly
Must be declared non smoking zones appropriately signed Floor/carpeting must be in good physical condition Door and X-ray sensor must be working properly. Floors numbers board must be matching with floor numbers.

7 PUBLIC RESTROOMS Furnishing or equipments must be up-to-date, well maintained & attractive Temperature & lighting must be appropriate & comfortable. All lights are working & light switches must be easy to locate. Toilets, urinals & sinks must be working good. Paper & toiletry dispensers must be in good physical condition. Stall partitions, stall doors, mirrors, walls , ceilings & vanities must be in good physical conditions

8 PUBLIC AREAS Fire exits must be easily visible with signs
Fire escapes must be lit at night Interior & exterior common area lighting must be sufficient. Stairs must have side holding bar All lighting & temperature must be appropriate, comfortable and maintained at all times. Public phones must be working properly & walkways must be free of hazardous conditions.

9 PBX SYSTEM Voice mail system available to guest must be functioning properly Guest must receive clear audible connections when placing calls. Department numbers list must be accurate & functioning Department pre-set buttons on phones must be accurate and functioning If no answer, guest voice mail must engage on 5th ring.

10 GENERAL RULES A daily check can save lots of time, effort & guest complain. Maintenance order’s checklist should be there for not accomplishing one before the other. Be always ready with necessary tools or equipments on place for fixing whatever instead of wasting time to check then to go & bring necessary tools. Good communication with HK & FO can save lots of time & effort also and prevent complains.
