2 Topics: You will be provided with two different topics, each relating to the various units of study throughout the year. You will choose one which interests you the most. Family Fascism

3 June 4 & 5 Read & annotate your article. Complete an outline.
You may use a dictionary, but the use of technology is not permitted. PHONES MUST BE PUT AWAY DURING THIS ENTIRE FINAL PROCESS.   All materials will be collected at the end of each period.

4 June 6-7 Write your essay in class.
Use your outline to help organize and plan your essay! All materials will be collected at the end of each period.

5 Essay Written Component:  You will develop an essay of words in the target language which includes the following three components:  Description: A detailed description of your topic in your own words.    Comparison: A comparison of the differences and/or similarities between your topic and your own culture(s). Reflection: A reflection of your topic which answers the following questions:  Which aspect of your chosen topic surprised or interested you the most?  Why do you think these cultural similarities/differences exist?  What might a person from the target culture think about the comparison to your own culture?

6 June 10-14 Oral Presentation :  You will choose a picture at random from those related to your topic of choice.  You will be provided with 3-5 minutes to prepare a notecard to aid you during your presentation.  General Presentation: Describe your selected picture and how it relates to your topic.  Questions: Respond to follow-up questions based on the picture and general presentation.  Conversation: Questions will be asked based on your chosen topic. 

7 Notecard Requirement Note Card Requirements:
You may use both English and the target language to support your ideas.  You may write up to 10 bullets of 3-5 words each. All words in any language count towards your bullet total. You may not write full sentences!  You may not use any technology or previously written notes to help you during this portion of the assessment.
