Magnet Program Requirements
Minimum 2.0 Average in core classes and conduct Minimum 2.0 Average in the magnet class and conduct All effort grades in core classes must be “1” or “2” No more than 10 unexcused absences

Student Schedule A 6th Grade Magnet Student receives 6 periods:
Core Classes (Language Arts, U.S. History, Mathematics, and Science) are offered at the following levels: Language Arts U.S. History Mathematics Science Varying Exceptionalities MAGNET ELECTIVE (Robotics or Legal Studies) Inclusion General Education Other Elective Advanced Gifted

Engineering/Robotics: Legal Studies: 6th Grade: Introduction to Technology 1 6th Grade: Law for Young Adults 7th Grade: Introduction to Technology 2 7th Grade: Civil & Criminal Law 8th Grade: Introduction to Technology 3 8th Grade: International Law

Overview of School Day 8:30 – Students are allowed in the building. Breakfast service begins. Students are supervised in designated areas by grade levels. 9:05-9:10 – Students report to homeroom 3:50 – Dismissal 4:00 – After School Enrichment Program, Clubs, & Athletic Programs begin. Only students participating allowed in the building

Arrival to School Before 8:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Students should be dropped off in the front of the school. Students wait in front hallway until the rest of school opens at 8:30 a.m. 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Students can be dropped off in the front of the school or the cafeteria. Students will be in designated areas until homeroom. After 9:00 a.m. After 9:10 a.m. student must report to attendance office for a tardy pass. Please note traffic signals during arrival and dismissal hours. ONE WAY STREETS

Breakfast/Lunch Miami-Dade County Public Schools offers breakfast at no charge to all M-DCPS students. Breakfast is provided from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. daily. Students eat lunch daily during their middle block. Lunch application must be filled out to determine if student qualifies for free/reduced lunch.

3:50 p.m. All students are dismissed at 3:50 p.m. Students riding a bus exit by the cafeteria (93 ave). Students with parent pick-up exit by the front of the school (29th terrace). All students must exit campus unless they are in an after school activity. 4:00 p.m. After school activities begin (sports, after school programs, tutoring). Only students participating in an organized activity may be inside the building. Please note traffic signals during arrival and dismissal hours. ONE WAY STREETS

AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS Program Manager: Mr. Richard Ramirez Rockway Middle School’s After School Enrichment Program THE PROGRAM HOURS ARE: 3:50 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday 1:20 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, Early Release Dismissal Days STUDENTS ENROLLED IN THE PROGRAM ARE PROVIDED DAILY WITH: Nutritional snacks Homework help Access to technology Tools to manage grades QUALITY CARE at an AFFORDABLE PRICE THE PROGRAM IS FEE-BASED: $40/week ($8/day) $35/week ($7/day for students on Free/Reduced-price lunch) Payments are made Bi-Weekly in CREDIT CARD ONLY HOMEWORK HOUR 3:50 – 5:00 $20/week ($4/day)
