Assignment brief: Pattern
Many artists and photographers have produced work based on the patterns that can be seen in the world around them. These may be natural patterns or patterns created in man made structures. Using your imagination and observation skills you are to explore the theme of pattern to form the basis for the start of your A Level journey.
Tasks:
Take a range of photographs or/and complete sketches that reflect the theme of pattern. Try to be creative with the composition. Does it change if you zoom in/out or if you change the lighting for example? You will be expected to present and annotate these photographs/drawings and explain your thinking when you start the course.
Research an artist that uses pattern primarily in their work. Present your findings in a creative way and annotate to explain what has interested you most about the work you have selected. (there are lots of resource boards on pinterest)
