What are the main purposes of government?
Why is it important for government to provide services?
Why do you think the government has “grown bigger” over the years?
When everyone is finished I will direct you to share with your shoulder partner

3. Vocabulary Citizen: legal member of a country
Government: Organizations, institutions, and individuals that exercise political authority on behalf of a group of people
Natural Rights: a right conferred upon man by natural law (a natural right… would hold in the absence of organized government)
Republic: form of government in which the people elect representatives to carry on the work of the government for them
