Even if no wages are paid, a voluntary helper is still classed as an employee and therefore Employers’ Liability is required. Anyone transporting animals in their vehicle for purposes relating to their business will require business use cover from their vehicle insurers. Anyone conducting animal related business activities in their own home should inform their household insurers.
