Resources for local government are determined through Spending Reviews – the last being SR 2015

Building a Robust Evidence Base…
Spending Review team is working with analytical and policy teams across Government to build a holistic bid for LG funding – revenue and capital spend – looking beyond Social Care to understand pressures on discretionary services.
With the LGA, hosting sector roundtables to bring together LA Finance and Service Directors with Whitehall Policy Directors to identify pressures on services and opportunities for improved delivery and efficiencies.
Visits with HM Treasury to hear first-hand about decisions Councils are taking to manage pressures and deliver for communities. We will be drawing on rich intel from LAs to build a picture around the analysis, understand spend and service variation and benefits of greater freedoms & flexibilities.
