The verb s’apercevoir means to notice, to be aware of, or to realize.
In Leçon 1A, you learned to conjugate devoir. You will now learn two verbs that are conjugated similarly. The verb s’apercevoir means to notice, to be aware of, or to realize. 4

Voir, croire, recevoir, and apercevoir all take avoir as the auxiliary verb in the passé composé. Their past participles are respectively, vu, cru, reçu, and aperçu. The conditionnel of voir, croire, recevoir, and apercevoir are formed respectively with the stems verr-, croir-, recevr-, and apercevr-. 5
