6 How Do I Know If My Child Should Take Advanced Classes?
These courses are designed to align with AP and IB courses in high school and therefore are more rigorous in nature. Students who perform at Meets or Masters on any STAAR test are encouraged to take advanced classes. Students may feel challenged at first. However, we find that most students quickly rise to meet expectations with support provided by the classroom teachers. We encourage all students to take at least one advanced class in 6th grade. It is the best opportunity to try an advanced class without impacting GPA If a parent asks about GT services please direct the parents to Sarah Etter

7 Electives Students attend electives each day.
