There are 7 people in a hot air balloon which is about to crash because there are too many people onboard. However, it will not crash if one person gets off.

A 70-year-old retired man whose wife died 2 years ago.
A 26-year-old trainee doctor who committed a terrible crime that he has never admitted to.
A 15-year-old girl who is paralysed and will live the rest of her life in a wheelchair.
An unemployed 52-year-old man with no family.
A 55-year-old scientist who may have found the cure to cancer or could have created an illness which is much worse but nobody knows yet. The trials for the treatment start next week.
