Wildland and Prescribed Fires issues are covered under the 1998 Interim Wildland and Prescribed Fire Policy. Natural Events issues for PM-2.5 will be handled on an interim basis under the PM-10 Natural Events Policy. 8-hour Ozone issues related to fire and natural events issues will be handled under the Exceptional Events Policy the same as the 1 hour Ozone NAAQS.

5 Next Steps on Exceptional Events and Natural Events Policies
OAQPS plans to review the need to update the Exceptional Events and Natural Events Policies. At present, we are just in the beginning stages of reviewing the need to revise the policies. We encourage States to continue to follow the current policies.
