1 2019 ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY STUDENT AWARDS
Congratulations!!! Fabian Correa-Guette IET Award for Highest GPA Oai Lee Huynh IET Scholarship, Leadership, & Integrity Award My name is Fabián Enrique Correa - Güette. I am from Cartagena, Colombia. I am graduating with a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering Technology and with a bachelor’s degree in music performance. As an ET student I learned a lot about how important team work is, the fact that everything in a company is planned with care, and, I gained awareness about some of the many processes that take place in industry. The things I like about the engineering department are the highly qualified faculty, and the constant reminder by all of them of the fact that knowledge is important but even more important is to have amazing work ethic and being easy to work with. For my plans after graduating, I have accepted a fellowship offer from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign to start my master's degree in music performance in next fall. My name is Oai Lee Huynh, and I am from Bossier City, Louisiana. I am graduating with an Industrial Engineering Technology degree. My experiences as an ET student consisted of learning many new things pertaining to my major and working with other students on projects. The things I like about the ET program are the hands-on and real-life activities. My future plans are to start working in my career field while continuing my studies to get my master’s degree. Taylor Craft EET Award for Highest GPA Cassandra Osborne EET Scholarship, Leadership, & Integrity Award I am Taylor Craft, I’m from Kisatchie, Louisiana. It’s a small community about 30 minutes south of Natchitoches. I will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Technology with a major in Electrical Engineering Technology as well as a minor in Industrial Engineering Technology. As an Engineering Technology student, I have been thoroughly challenged to better myself through this program. The entire staff of this department is always there to help when you need it, though. That is what I loved about this program. It’s such a close community, everyone knows one another, and all the professors know you by your first name. Now that I’ve reached the finish line, there is a whole world of possibilities open to me. I hope to get a career doing CAD or programming. Those are the two fields I’ve enjoyed learning the most. My name is Cassandra Osborne, and I am from Anacoco, Louisiana.  I am graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology with concentrations in electronics and biomedical technology.  This degree has given me a multitude of experiences from biomedical equipment to industrial process improvement.  I have truly enjoyed the various hands-on learning experiences, research opportunities, and faculty involvement.  I plan on working after graduation and possibly pursuing graduate school in the future.
