Maths We will be number detectives to find the missing numbers. We will cut food into halves and quarters. We will split numbers into tens and ones. We will tracing to move shapes. We will measure thngs. English Reading We will be doing lots of guided reading and lots of comprehension work so that we understand what we have read. We will read the story Aliens Love under pants and Bob the man the on the moon. Handwriting We will keep practising our new cursive handwriting style. Writing We will be writing a non chronological reports about space. We will write a diary recount pretending to be Neil Armstrong. We will write a poem using our 5 senses. We will write instruction for “How to get ready for school” Science We will be making split pin skeletons and labelling the body parts. We will keep a weather diary for one week. We will make a class summer college. We will help discovery dog investigate which material doesn’t get in the post. PE We will start practising for sports day. We will practising our jumping and take part in lots of different races/ RE Chanukah We be having a party for our class bear. Activities for Year 1 Summer 2 “To Infinity and Beyond” History We will look at Neil Armstrong and why he is an important person. We will watch the first landing on the moon. We will look at the space timeline. Computing We will be navigating our way through space. We will collect answers from around the school. Art/DT We will make work for our art gallery. We will look at aboriginal art and make our own spotty picture. We will design a brand new space suit.
