4. Novel Studies
Students will be asked to purchase novels for reading & annotation. Students will need A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck.

5. Vocabulary Wordly Wise online access: www.explores.com
Students will use Wordly Wise book 8 for vocabulary study. This year, all activities will be done online, and some will be required as homework.

Students will click “login” (upper right corner)
Students will set up accounts the week of 9/18 and will start having weekly tests over the vocab words.

6. Power School
Please check Power School regularly to note grades, assignments, and any missing work.
10% is deducted for each day that an assignment is late, up until 5 days.
Grading scale is the following:
Major assessments & work = 75%
Minor assignments & work = 25%
