1. What's in the news?
Have a look at the newspaper headlines on your worksheet.
Sort them into three different groups – ‘fact’, ‘opinion’ or ‘a mixture of both’ – by shading them in three different colours (make sure you have a key!)
For one headline in each category write a sentence to describe the image of migrants which is portrayed.
Do you think these images are fair?
Do you think that they play on our stereotypes of migrants?
Discuss these two questions as a class.
