3. #1. PRIORITY--- GOD (3:16-17)
“Let the word of Christ dwell (be at home) in you richly
As you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom,
And as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,
Giving thanks to God the Father through him.”

4. #2. PRIORITY---FAMILY(3:18) WIVES
“Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.”
Ephesians 5: “…as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.”

5. Definitions
“Submit” ---”to cooperate voluntarily with someone else out of love and respect for God and for that person.”
It is a military term “to arrange under rank.”
Ideally submission is mutual—”Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.” Eph. 5:21

12. #2 PRIORITY---FAMILY (3:19) HUSBANDS
“Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” Col. 3:19
“…as Christ loved the church…” Eph. 5:25
LOVE—Agape (Greek), “Keep on loving”—present tense, imperative.

13. LOVE
“Unselfish loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another.” Websters Dictionary.
“Love can only be known from the actions it prompts.” Vines Expository Dictionary.
