1 GOVERNMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES and GLOBAL NUCLEAR SAFETY REGIME
Good practice (GP1): The application of a no blame policy for the investigation of nuclear and radiation safety-related events is commendable Good practice (GP2): The BNRA operational and regulatory experience feedback system covers the use of information received during BNRA participation in international workshops, seminars and other fora. Results from BNRA participation in international forums are described in reports along with the suggestions for incorporation of international experience in the BNRA activities. Such reports are disseminated through the BNRA intranet. Referring to those reports the BNRA chairman ensures the implementation of raised issues or suggestions thereto First Workshop on issues and trends from the European IRRS missions, 22 – 23 January 2014, Brussels

2 GOVERNMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES and GLOBAL NUCLEAR SAFETY REGIME
Area of improvements: The government should ensure BNRA is involved formally during the development of all regulations dealing with matters of nuclear safety, nuclear security and radiation protection. Where there is a potential overlap of regulatory responsibilities, the regulations need to be clear in regard to the demarcation of the respective roles and so avoid duplication of activities. To develop a Memorandum of Understanding with the agencies (in particular the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Interior) to align all the regulations with BNRA First Workshop on issues and trends from the European IRRS missions, 22 – 23 January 2014, Brussels

3 GOVERNMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES and GLOBAL NUCLEAR SAFETY REGIME
