1 JAPAN(日本) I’m Yuri Umezawa in the second grade.
I’d like to introduce my homeland, Japan.

Japan is an island nation off the east coast of Asia. ・Located in East Asia ・Population of Japan : 13 million (half of that of the U.S.) ・Area of Japan = that of California State

3 Popular Japanese Scenery
Here Cherry blossoms in Spring These are very Japanese view. Mt. Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan. In spring, we can enjoy watching cherry blossoms almost everywhere. There are many castles in Japan. Mt. Fuji and Shinkansen Castle

4 City to visit 1: Tokyo Tokyo Tower Parliament house Tokyo
Tokyo is the capital city. I came from Tokyo. Tokyo Sensoji Temple

5 City to visit 2: Kyoto Kinkakuji Temple (made by Gold) Kyoto
If you want to see temples, I recommend you to go to Kyoto. Kyoto

6 Foods Sashimi Tofu Tempura Sushi Soba noodles Natto Udon noodles Ramen
Have you ever tried any of Japanese food in here? Sushi is very famous, isn’t it? Sushi is raw fish on vinegar rice. Japanese use chopsticks when eating. But you can eat Sushi with your fingers if you want. Japanese cuisine was registered as World’s Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2013.

8 Sports which Japan Originated
Sumo Judo Kendo These are traditional sports on Japan. Japan will host the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

9 Traditional wear Kimono is the traditional Japanese national costume.
These days, there aren’t many people who wear kimonos every day. We take off our shoes when entering a house. Kimono is the traditional Japanese national costume. This is the picture when I was seven years old.

10 Language and characters
“Umezawa, Yuri” is: in Kanji 梅澤 優里 in Hiragana うめざわ ゆり in Katakana ウメザワ ユリ 3 character sets in Japanese language 1. Kanji: delivered from China 2. Hiragana: created from kanji 3. Katakana: created from kanji Children learn about 1000 kanji in elementary school. There are three character sets in Japanese language. They are Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. I’m Yuri Umezawa, and I can write my name in three kinds of different ways in Japanese.

Good evening.: Konbanwa Good bye.: Sayounara See you!: Matane! Thank you. : Arigato I’m sorry.: Gomennasai Good luck!: Ganbatte! I’m glad if you would remember one of them. Good morning is “Ohayo” See you is “Matane” Thank you is “Arigato” Good luck is “Ganbatte”

12 Culture 1 These were made in Japan!
Have you ever known these were all made in Japan?

13 Culture 2 Ninjas use a lot of ninjutsu, which is the technique or method for their job or activity. Ninja is also popular. Ninja came to be known worldwide through manga and anime.

14 Culture 3 Origami is one of Japanese traditional paper–craft arts.
Children are taught how to make origami by their parents and grandparents or also friends. It’s amazing that a piece of square paper changes into many things, like animals, boxes, and also toys too. I can make crane, ribbon and Shuriken, and so on. Thank you for listening!
