6. SAMPRO School-Based Asthma Management Program
Holistic approach to pediatric asthma management – the Circle of Support around the child
Includes the physician taking responsibility for interacting with the school and addressing that environment

7. SAMPRO Practice Improvement
Practice Improvement Module based on implementation of the SAMPRO principles for managing pediatric asthma patients
20 CME credits for physicians; counts as a quality improvement activity for ABAI MOC program
Includes a measure “Support the School's Development of an Environmental Asthma Plan”
Outcomes:
Awareness of the importance of proactively communicating with the schools about the child’s needs, action plan
Patients and families need support beyond the office visit
Barriers:
No defined infrastructure for communicating with the schools
Lack of ability to impact school conditions
