MTHFR A1298C mutation was detected by polymerase chain reaction–restriction-fragment-length polymorphism. The 163 bp was digested with MboII. The A allele is cut by the enzyme and yields 56, 31, 30, 28, and 18 bp, whereas the C allele yields 84, 31, 30, and 18 bp products. Lane 1: 100 bp ladder (New England Biolabs); lane 2: AA homozygous; lanes 3 and 4: AC heterozygous; lane 5: CC homozygous.
