Kingdom Fungi There are about 75,000 species presently known to science. There may be as many as 1.5 million possible. Lots of work for up and coming mycologists!

Kingdom Fungi Characteristics: Extracellular digestion
Nutrient absorption occurs through the mycelium. The mycelium is made up of a network of hyphae. Multinucleated cells with chitin frequently making up the cell walls. (where have you seen this substance before?) Heterotrophic (often saprophytic) Reproduce often by generating spores.
