2 What is a Choice Board? A choice board assignment is an assignment that gives you…CHOICES! You may choose which assignments you complete as long as you follow the very important guidelines.

3 Important Notes: You will work on your cell organelles choice board assignment for the entire week. Bring your books, technology, and notes for smooth sailing. This is an independent assignment. ALL choice board assignments are due on Friday. STAPLE ALL ASSIGNMENTS TOGETHER PUT YOUR NAME ON EACH ASSIGNMENT Write the choice board option (example: A1 or B3) near your name.

For this choice board, you must choose 3 blocks. You need one assignment from the A category, one assignment from the B category, and one assignment from the C category. All assignments are due Friday. Staple them all together and turn them in at the same time. KEEP THIS SLIDE UP FOR THE CLASS TO SEE. Graphic Organizer (15 pts) • Completed on a clean piece of paper • Should be large at least 2/3 of the page • Written in pen A.1. Create a Venn Diagram that compares & contrasts Prokaryotic & Eukaryotic Cells (5 characteristics in each column) A.2. Create a Venn Diagram that compares Eukaryotic, Animal AND Plant cells. (at least 5 characteristics in each column) A.3. Create a flow chart / sequence map that demonstrate the relationships of 5 organelles + the cell membrane. Answer the question: How are the organelles interconnected? Drawing (20 pts) • Completed on clean piece of paper • Colored, labels clear B.2. Draw, color, & Label a Eukaryotic Cell (animal OR plant cell). (Should have at least 8 organelles / structures) B.3. Draw, color, & Label both a Plant AND Animal cell. Use ONE label / color for organelles that are shared. (Should have at least 8 organelles / structures) B.1. Draw, color, & Label a Prokaryotic Cell. (Should have at least 4 organelles / structures) Essay (45 pts) • 1 page front and back, hand written, no spaces • Introduction, Thesis, Body paragraphs that support thesis, Conclusion C.3. Choose 4 organelles of a eukaryotic cell & explain how their interaction allows the whole cell to thrive) C.1. Choose 1 organelle of a eukaryotic cell & describe how its structure is related to its function C.2. Compare & Contrast the Mitochondria & the Chloroplast in regards to their structure & function. Include what type of cells have each

5 WARNING!!! All drawings must be colored, labelled, and NEAT. Anything less will result in lost points. All essays must be front and back on notebook paper and DO NOT skip lines. It must be YOUR thoughts. Copy and paste from the internet or less than the required length will result in NO POINTS AT ALL. If you forget to write your name, I have no way of knowing it belongs to you and you will get an “M” in Infinite Campus.
