3 2018-2020 Biennium District Goals
ZI Goal 1: We maximize our impact through service and advocacy initiatives and educational programs that empower women and girls. Continue support for Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women. Embrace Zonta’s call to end child marriage. Implement the Women in Technology Scholarship program. Achieve new collaboration with at least two like-minded organizations. At this point in our biennium, it’s time to review our goals and see if we are meeting them. Support for Zonta Says No —without a doubt D10 continues it’s strong support of this initiative. Think back to the 16 Days. Didn’t your club participate I some way? From your Facebook posts, I know that the majority of our clubs were active in their participation. And, I also know that we will continue to support Zonta Says No. This is a signature project that we all have embraced. End Child Marriage—We addressed this new project at our Summit and continue to share information about it. Whether or not it will become another signature project remains to be seen. The importance of this project is undeniable. WIT—D10 in this pilot year is offering a $1000 district WIT scholarship. Our chair Diane Hobbs Popps is working to inform and encourage local clubs to submit an application. Due July 1. New Collaboration: Please, let me know if your club is working with a new like-minded organization during this biennium.

4 ZI Goal 2: We strengthen our resources to support
our mission. Have more members on May 31, 2020, than on May 31, 2018. Support engaging student clubs and the chartering of new student clubs as relevant service projects. Utilize leadership training program with district and club leaders. Continue our outstanding support of Zonta International Foundation. Implement measures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of district operations. Our membership numbers are rebounding. Shreveport is working on reviving the Golden Z Club at LSU Shreveport. Use of the new leadership tools available on ZI’s website was encouraged at the Summit and I continue to suggest that clubs use these resources. No problem with D10’s support of ZIF. We continue to use social media as a tool to reach our members. Get out your phones. Go to Facebook. Search Zonta District 10. Like our page. Many of our members haven’t done this. We also use Constant Contact and Zoom.

5 Report on actions that increase Zonta’s visibility.
ZI Goal 3: We enhance our profile around the world through our centennial anniversary activities. Honor a person or an organization for outstanding achievement to empower women. Report on actions that increase Zonta’s visibility. At our D10 Conference, we will honor an organization from within our district that just show this outstanding effort to empower women. Please, remember to submit your club’s nomination to Kim Hawes by June 1. At our conference the organization selected with also be the D10 Conference service project.

11 Zonta Changes Lives—That’s WHY!
Why Zonta? Zonta’s Vision Women’s rights are human rights. Every woman should be able to achieve her full potential. Women should have equal basis with men in decision- making positions. No woman should live in fear of violence. Zonta provides mutual support and fellowship for members who serve their communities, their nations, and the world. Zonta Changes Lives—That’s WHY! I’m so glad to be a part of an organization with such a vision and so glad that because of Zonta I join with so many others who share this vision. Aren’t you? Thank you.
