1 Representative example of the use of a fiberoptic bronchoscope (FOB) to guide intubation through a supraglottic airway device. Representative example of the use of a fiberoptic bronchoscope (FOB) to guide intubation through a supraglottic airway device. The glottic opening should be visible on advancement of the fiberoptic bronchoscope positioned just beyond the bowl of the airway device. It should then be possible to advance the tracheal tube into the trachea under direct vision. The full view of the glottic opening may not be achieved in all situations.
