2 What is Biometric? Is the technology of authenticating a person’s identity by verifying a personal characteristic.

3 What are the device biometric?
Fingerprint readers Face recognition system Hand Geometry System Voice Verification system Signature verification system Retinal Scanner Iris recognition system

4 Part 2.What are the device biometric?
Fingerprint readers Face recognition system Hand Geometry System Voice Verification system Signature verification system Retinal Scanner Iris recognition system

5 History of Biometric Introduced in the mid 1800’s
Biometric is a Greek Word. Started with palm prints and through history

6 Explain how each device works
Fingerprint reader Scans your finger and then measures unique patterns that matches. Face recognition System A live face image and compares it with a stored image to determine if the image matches.

7 Part 2. Explain how each device works.
Hand Geometry System Device that measures the shape and size of a person’s hand. Voice Verification System Is a person live speech with their stored voice pattern. Signature Verification System Recognize the shape of your handwritten signature, as well as measures the pressure and motion that is used.

8 Part 3. how each device works
Iris recognition system Iris(as in eyes) recognition technology to read patterns in the iris of the eyes. Retinal Scanners Works similarly but instead scan patterns of blood vessels in the back of the retina (as in the back of the eyeball containing cells).

9 Advantages and Disadvantages of Biometric
Reduce Fraud Increase Security Saves time Don’t need ID’s Don’t have to remember lots of passwords or codes. Expensive Accuracy Impact on labor work for security guards.

10 FUTURE FOR BIOMETRIC Safety and security in the public and private sectors is driving research in this rapidly growing field.
