technological developments may well be linked to advances in the creativity of individual users” (Banaji, Burn and Buckingham, 2006). How has technology helped you to be more creative? Think particularly about how you have used the camera and editing software here. Use specific examples

5 Technology and creativity
David Gauntlett believes that the age of web 2.0 (interactive internet) represents a cultural shift from a “sit back and be told” culture to a “making and doing” culture. Gauntlett says that the internet is leading to an increase in “everyday creativity” as more and more people make things and publish them online. Charles Leadbeater says we are in an age of “mass innovation and creativity” A Level media has certainly become much more of a “making and doing” course.

6 Technology and creativity
“in the past, you were what you owned; now, you are what you share”. (Charles Leadbeater). How did you share your creative work online? How did you benefit from things that others shared online in the planning and research stage of your coursework? Did you use social networking to gain other people’s views on your coursework? Explain what this taught you

7 How did your creativity develop across the course?
What did you learn about using the internet to gain creative ideas? How did you put this into practice in your second piece of coursework? What did you learn about using technology to make your work more creative? How did you put this into practice in your second piece of coursework. Was the music video task inherently more creative than the film opening task? Explain this. Looking back on the AS task how could you have been more creative?
