Sweeping requirements All content … credit or non credit or for enrichment All delivery ... Online, hybrid, face-to-face Four years (from 2016…)

9 Preaching to the Choir Was Easy
Early days of pulling together were fun! (We proposed this presentation in that time…) Even friends had some challenging moments. During this time we wrote policies, appointed a Coordinator, and hired people. Was this all that needed to be done? Some people thought so. Had the “start-up vibe” We got lucky in the intial meetings because we got called in due to personal connections.

10 Switching from the Choir to the Congregation
Modifying existing training (Ability Ally) Creating new training (Intro to UDL) Turning the agreement into outcomes/objectives Linking to pre/post affective testing Building extrinsic motivation Note: What does “required” mean? “Getting out there” and training/talking to departments

11 Remediation of … Everything

13 Before the lawyers come
Identify who the players are; decide if you are a player. Can this be done internally or will you need consultants? Start looking for money. Look at your website. It’s vulnerable because it’s easy to access. Read accessibility policies from other schools. Build capacity now by investing in training and people’s self interest. Look for ways to align incentives. Go to bit.ly/LawyersLeave and read/watch everything there. Subscribe to these listservs:
