Graph y = sec x Graph y = csc x

3 How do trends hold here? They will hold pretty much the same way – seeing shifts left, right, up, down and seeing changes in periodicity. Lets look at the following graphs:

4 Basic Truths The period of both y = sec x and y = csc x is 2π. (makes sense, right?) The period of y = tan x and y = cot x is π. We really don’t talk about amplitude of these four functions.

5 My Method for Tan/Cot/Sec/Csc
Determine 3 New Asymptotes Set Argument = Old Asymptotes and solve for x Find 2 midpoints Plot these 2 points Sketch the functions according to what they looked like before.
