1 Parents Information Meeting 11.9.18
We believe that we are all God's work of art. We strive to respect and care for each other and to use our talents to do our best. By doing this, we are 'Learning in the Light of Christ'

2 Welcome to Year 3 Class Teacher: Miss Pringle
Working in Year 3 will be: Miss Pringle Ms Lawlor – LSA Interventions Mr Reed – Soft Start

3 Expectations Good attendance and punctuality.
Upholding good behaviour in class and around the school. Being good role models for the rest of the school. Taking on responsibilities. Representing the school outside in the community. Completing home learning and handing it in on time. Returning reading records, reply slips etc. on time. Becoming more independent and involved in their learning. Taking pride in their work and the presentation of their work.

4 What your child will need:
Everyday they should bring in their water bottle. No rucksacks – please just bring in records and reading books ion reading days. Snacks aren’t provided in KS2 so children can pack a healthy snack. Reading books and reading record only in on your child’s reading day – please check home learning books. Letters from parents to be given to the teacher at the start of the morning. Label ALL clothing including P.E. Kits Coats for Autumn weather.

5 Handouts The Year 3 curriculum overview given to you today is an outline of what we will be covering this year. Year 3 Booklist Year 3 Weekly Spelling List.

6 Year 3 pupils have home learning packs.
Home Learning is set on Friday and due in the following Wednesday. Please see the blog for details. Spellings – these will be handed out at the beginning of each half term for a test on every Friday. Maths and English – every week there will be a Maths and English task sent home for your child to complete. SPAG and Mathletics. Reading – minutes per day, parents to sign diary once per week.

7 P.E. The children will have P.E. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this term. P.E kits will remain in school. We will send them home every half term. Swimming will take place in the Spring term.

12 The Canonisation of Pope Paul VI Sunday 14th October 2018
By examining the charism (beliefs) of Pope Paul VI we will be looking at how our children can grow closer to God through reflecting on the messages of Pope Paul VI. His

13 School Priorities To develop the teaching and learning of spelling ensuring gaps in learning are closed. To further develop strategies to help underachieving pupils to catch up and to improve outcomes for the more able.

15 Parent Communication * Please inform Mrs Lennox in the morning of any changes to school pick up so that we may write in the Parent communication book. Please inform the adult if your child is to attend any after school clubs. A medical note will be given to your child if they have been hurt. We will always relay this to you verbally if you are picking up your child. Please wait for all children to leave before approaching Miss Pringle for discussion after school.

16 Remember that if you have any concerns then please come and speak to me. Mrs Lennox will be happy to make an appointment for you, and I will be more than happy to meet with you – after school.
