The Son gives Understanding
vs 20a “…the Son of God has come and has given us understanding…”

Honor God with the Head or with the Heart

3. “From Ignorance to Understanding”
The Son is True Understanding
vs. 20 c “And we are in Him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ.”
Evidence of Truth

The Son is understood to be God
vs. 20d “He is the true God and eternal life.”
All I know is….
When a person crosses the spiritual line of demarcation from death unto life through Jesus Christ, it is always followed by a change in one’s life as well.

5. “From Ignorance to Understanding”
“And Can it Be”
“Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
fast bound in sin and natures night.
Thine eye diffused a quickening ray.
I rose the dungeon flamed with light.
My chains fell off my heart was free.
I rose went forth and followed Thee.
Amazing love, how can it be
that thou my God should’st die for me?”

6. Things to remember and practice
James said that even demons believe in God, but the demons are not saved because they don’t know God. They know of Him in their head. It is not until you know Him in your heart and understand Him in the deepest part of your being that real salvation takes hold.
What are your plans for you and Jesus in 2012? John says in this verse, “And we are in Him who is true…” This life will not make sense to you until you are into Jesus and He is in you – then you will have understanding from another world – supernatural – powerful.
