Signaling complexes regulating actin dynamics in the slit diaphragm. Several transmembrane proteins in the slit diaphragm associate with the actin cytoskeleton either directly or indirectly via cytosolic scaffolding proteins. Phosphorylation of the nephrin–NEPH1 protein complex activates signaling pathways that cooperatively modulate actin organization in podocytes. FAT1 also associates with proteins that regulate actin polymerization.
