Definition of CURIOSITY desire to know: a : inquisitive interest in others' concerns : nosiness b : interest leading to inquiry <intellectual curiosity>

4 Give me three reasons as to why you picked your subjects in sixth form.
Feedback to whiteboard and count the ‘interested’ responses up to make that point that most of them believe they are inquisitive people

Being intellectually curious is all about asking questions, not about having answers. It's about believing in the pursuit of knowledge as a value in and of itself.

Are you in the habit of creative and exploratory thinking? Why not broaden your horizons, learn beyond the textbook and curriculum and prepare yourself for the future? There is only so much information you can learn in a lesson. Students feedback

11 Secret of the Wild Child
Watch the following clip As you watch you must think of at least 3 questions you would like to find the answer to. They can be about Genie or general questions. Click on picture for clip. In pairs swap questions and go to the library for 15 mins to try and answer the q’s they have created.

What did you find out? How did you find it out? Now you know about a case of a feral child and some information around it. Feedback to whiteboard on information found to build a bigger picture.

13 In what areas of your life could you now use this information to help you?
Onus on learning to be inquisitive with leads on to being knowledgeable in life generally (HOME, FRIENDS AND UNI).
