3 Classification issues Repair and maintenance services of consumer and household goods and enterprises running that sort of activity are classified in division 95 Repair services of computers and personal and household goods under the code 95.2 Repair services of personal and household goods according to: The Polish Classification of Goods and Services (PKWiU 2008) which is compliant with the CPA 2008 The Polish Classification of Activities (PKD 2007) which is fully methodologically, conceptually coherent and comparable with the classification the NACE Rev. 2

Surveys on turnover Annual data on turnover Annual information on the turnover of enterpises are collected within the structural business statistics which comply with: Regulation (EC, EURATOM) No 58/97 of the Council of 20 December 1996 Regulation (EC) No 295/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 march 2008 12

13 Surveys on turnover Annual data on turnover Annual survey on enterprises (SP): all enterprises with the number of persons employed 10 and more information are collected within financial statements such as balance sheet and profit and losses account additional data are reported e.g. type of book-keeping system deadline: April, 30th Annual survey of small enterprises (SP3): enterprises with the number of persons employed 9 and less sample of enterprises (about 5%) selected randomly within the settled strata (for 95.2 – class level) turnover is estimated on the basis of data from Section 4 Revenues and costs from total activity deadline: March, 15th Questionnaires

Surveys on turnover Annual data on turnover Data required under mentioned questionnaires are reported electronically via statistical reporting portal Exception: enterprises with the number of persons employed 5 and less Process of data preparation consists of analysis of individual data, imputation and estimation procedure with the usage of accessible information Availability of data: preliminary – 10 months final – 18 months after the end of the reporting year 14

Deflator for output / turnover Consumer price survey in 2010-2012 1,4 thous. of representatives for goods and services in 209 price survey areas all over the country representatives are selected purposively sample covers all elementary groups of COICOP prices of repair services of personal and household goods are observed in 6 divisions and 14 elementary groups of COICOP in 2012 representatives of repair services of personal and household goods – approx. 2,2% of total number of representatives selected for survey 20

Deflator for output / turnover Consumer price survey Due to the rare purchase of some repair services of personal and household goods, there are 2 constraints in compilation of CPI for mentioned groups of services: the accessibility of weights is unstable during years the difficulties in designating commonly consumed repair services of personal and household goods in order to ensure representatives for elementary groups in all regions 22

Summary Annual information on turnover are available at the group level 95.2 by NACE Rev. 2 in contrast to short-term data which are available at the level of division 95 As far as the short-term statistics is concerned it is recommended to consider the possibility for compiling more detailed data on turnover – at the group level 95.2 by NACE Rev. 2 Analysis of VAT data for their usage in order to obtain source for short-term data on turnover and decrease the respondents burden 24

Summary For national accounts purpose the output of division 95 by NACE Rev. 2 is deflated by annual CPI for group 09.1.5 Repair of audio-visual, photographic and information processing equipment by COICOP Due to the rare purchase of some repair services of personal and household goods, compilation of CPI for repair and maintenance of consumer and household goods causes difficulties 25
