3 Questions When and where was Roald Dahl born? What type of books did he read? What was Roald Dahl made for being best in his class when learning how to fly? What accident made him leave the RAF for awhile? When did he die and how did he die? How many short stories did he write?

5 Roald Dahls Life He was born in Llandaff, Wales, UK on September 13, 1916. Roalds father died of pneumonia and lived with his mom and 5 other siblings. He was good at cricket and swimming but not the best at it.

6 Roalds life contd His favorite hobby was reading He liked books that had heroism and masculinity which later on helped his books. He wanted to go to Africa so after school he went for the Shell Company.

7 World War 2 After he school around 1939 he went to join the RAF or Royal Air Force to fight in World War 2. He was the best in his class so they made him LAC or Leading Aircraftman.

8 World War 2 continued In the 1940s he drove a plane to a destination by himself and ran out of gas and crashed at 75 mph and fractured his skull. He did eventually make it back to the RAF but, later had to retire because of the accident it left him with some very sharp pains. The newspaper owner needed a propaganda to keep America interested in the war

9 1953 till his death In 1953 Dahl married Patricia Neal after knowing her for 2 years. In 1965 she had a series of fatal strokes. They divorced in 1983 and he quickly got remarried to Felicity Dahl. He had Leukemia and died on November 23, 1990 in Oxford, England.

10 Books and Novels Autobiographies: Boy – Tales of Childhood, Boy and Going Solo, Going Solo, The Great Mouse Plot, and My Year. He wrote 2 novels called My Uncle Oswald and Sometime Never. He wrote about 69 Short Stories

11 Childrens Books He wrote a total of 19 childrens books and you probally know some or all of them. Books like the BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Georges Marvelous Medicine, James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The Magic Finger, and many, many more.

12 Memories A lot of his stories had memories from all through his school career and after his school career. He used memories for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Boy, Going Solo, and many more. All of his books were made for little kids so, they didnt have a hint of romance at all.

13 Facts about his Stories Six of his books were made into movies. They were: Matilda, Chocolate and Charlie Factory which was done two different times, James and the Giant Peach. Lots of his stories have unexpected endings and in some the parents are evil toward children like Matilda, and James and the Giant Peach.
