2 Hebrews 11: 24-26 24 “By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. 25 He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26 He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.”

4 1.) “Misthos” - Wages, the result of something you do
In the New Testament, 2 words are used most often to describe eternal rewards: 1.) “Misthos” - Wages, the result of something you do * Matt. 5:12; 20:8; Luke 6:35; Rev. 22:12 2.) “Apodidomai” - To repay To give back in return * Matt. 6:4; 16:27; Luke 10:35; 14:14

7 In Response to Persecution
for Righteousness… Matthew 5: 11-12 “Blessed are you…rejoice and be glad because great is your reward in Heaven.” Luke 6: 22-23 “Blessed are you…Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven.”

8 Acts 5: 40-42 40  …[The Sanhedrin] called the apostles in and had them flogged. Then they ordered them not to speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

9 Luke 14: 12-14 12 Then Jesus said to his host, “When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or sisters, your relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. 13 But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, 14 and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”

10 Hebrews 11:6 “Without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder [misthos-apodidomai] of those who diligently seek Him.”
