Use Smart Sectioning Objective Education Experience Leadership
Required Options Objective Education Experience Leadership Honors/Awards Internships Academic Projects Related Coursework Languages/Study Abroad Computer Skills Associations Volunteerism/Community Service Sectioning is very persuasive. The 3 primary are Objective, education and experience. In choosing the others, you are choosing your persuasion. What do you want to communicate to get this job? Leadership? Academic Achievement? International experience? IT expertise? Social connection? Heart for others?

Use concise, strong, active language.
Start with an action verb. Use emotional word pictures Be specific. Detail accomplishments: Increased production capability by 10% resulting in 50K in revenue. Take a look at the Active Words document and Persuasive Template in Blackboard to help you with word choices. When you create your bullet points, you are to be in alignment with your objective and your potential employer’s values. Select words that create the picture in the readers mind that you want to create. Here’s what I mean…. Let’s say your objective: Network Administrator for Citicorp Your persuasive education would be in IT or Finance, etc. The bullet points are to be about IT expertise and experience and Finance expertise and experience.

Step 5: Bold & Proofread to perfection!
Bold your transferrable information, like job titles and the names of your degrees Tell your story at 100% . Be accurate. BOLD smart. Decide what you want the reader to focus on and bold that. That means, you’ll bold the transferrable skill, not where you worked.
